what is the dumpling order?

In every corner of the globe, there exists a staple dish—a simple combination of meat and pastry—that transcends borders and unites people from all walks of life. This humble dish serves as a comforting reminder of home, a taste of tradition, and a symbol of shared human experience.  the dumpling order is a multi-CULTURAL interpretation of how to bring this sensation to life through the making of art.

who is responsible for this?

all MEMBERS OF THE ORDER were enrolled the Calarts class Visibility & Authority: Images of Asian America, a seminar that examines the constructions of Asian identity in America. topics covered include the political, economic, social, and technological forces at play between “East” and “West”, and the legacy of these forces embedded in the visual representations of individuals and communities. In addition, this course highlights the work of artists FROM the Asian diaspora from the 19th century through present America whose practices engage such topics.
